Princesses and Potty Training...

Brinley has been showing signs that she is ready to be potty trained for a few weeks now. So, let the potty training begin. We went and bought some big girl panties for her and she of course picked out the princess ones. She is constantly taking her diaper off so she can put the big girl ones on. So, as you can imagine, I will be sticking around the house for the next week or so to get this going. Hopefully she will do well and hopefully I won't lose my mind. If anyone has any potty training advice it would be greatly appreciated! Wish me luck!!

The Gateway Fountain

On Friday we went to the Gateway to let Brinley play in the fountain. We went with my mom and dad who were excited to spend the day with her. We rode Trax there, which Brinley loved, then ate lunch and let her play in the fountain. She wasn't quite sure what to think about it. She was hesitant the whole time of whether or not to play in it. After some encouragement, she went out on her own for a minute and then got nervous again. I don't think she liked the fact that she didn't know when or where the water was going to come out. Afterwords we went to Southtowne Mall to let her ride the carousel. What a fun filled day!! Thanks mom and dad!

Spanish Fork Fiesta Days

Last night we went to the Spanish Fork Fiesta days and walked around all the booths and the car show.. Then Brinley saw the carnival. Let me just tell you, I am not a city carnival person. They are super dirty and who knows how safe they really are. But last night I gave in to the charm of my daughter (what else is new). I let her ride the rides and just had to close my eyes to the dirt and grime around me. She loved it and had a blast. I am glad the me and my germaphobe husband let her just enjoy the carnival because all little kids need to experience it at one time or another.

At the car show a man was letting kids get in the little car and let them "drive". Brinley thought she was hot stuff!
On the merry-go-round (her favorite)
She wasn't so sure about the space ship ride, but she did great and loved it by the end.
She is part Riley cause she gets her racing skills from her grandpa. She loves to pretend she is driving. She even gets in our cars at home, it is her favorite pass time, besides the park of course.
This was Beckham the whole time.. sleeping like a rock.

What a funny girl...

Can I just tell you that I have the cutest girl in the entire world! Seriously, she is always making me laugh with the little things she does. She is always coming up with something new to entertain us. These are some pictures of her and her funny ways..

Brinley has NEVER fallen asleep anywhere but her crib or carseat in her ENTIRE life... Yet the other day she was so tired she fell asleep in her high chair after a good lunch of mac and cheese..
She loves her brother so much, she is always wanting to hold him and kiss him. She woke up the other day and went to lay next to him, I was just lucky to get this picture..
Here she is pretending to be asleep and making her grandpa "sleep" as well. She even pretends to snore, it is so hilarious!
This is how I found her yesterday, in nothing but a diaper, chilling in Beckham's swing watching The Little Mermaid.
Our little gymnist is ALWAYS hanging on things and swinging herself around, as well as doing somersaults and jumping from couch to couch. Case in point...
Isn't she adorable!!

Family Reunion

This is going to be kind of a long post. So I apologize in advance. Well every year Darren's family has a family reunion. There is the Burrup/Fisher reunion in Oxford, ID (by Preston) and the Maughan reunion which is kind of wherever the person in charge decides to go. We weren't able to make it to the Burrup reunion because of the birth of Beckham but decided to shoot for the Maughan one. We made it. This year it was in Lava Hot Springs and we had a blast!! There was water rafting and swimming and tons of games and food! I didn't take the baby out much so Darren took Brinley to the pool and stuff. But I did take him to the park to sit in shade while the other's went water rafting. After sitting there for a while the others came back from rafting and told me that it was mild enough that Icould probably go. So I left Beckham with aunts and uncles and went down with Darren, Brinley, Lori my sister in law and her two girls Bailey 3 and Sydni 6. Well, we went down a waterfall about 4 feet high and flipped with the Brinley and Bailey and Sydni. Needless to say I was scared out of my mind that my little girl was going to drown. Of course she had on a lifejacket, but that didn't ease my mind a whole lot. Darren and I were both underwater holding her up by the lifejacket trying to get our footing. We found a rock and Brin and I sat there while Darren helped Lori with her two crying kids. Sydni got catapulted about 20 ft and was ok , just a little scared. Lori was holding Bailey and went under but was able to get to the side with Sydni. Brinlry just sat there like nothing had happened ready to keep going. Luckily we were all ok and walked away with just a couple of scratches and bruises. The rest of the river was great, some small rapids and calm water. I don't think we will be doing the waterfall thing again anytime soon. But the rest of the trip was fantastic. Here are some pictures of our fun filled reunion.

There was a lot of this... Like father, like son
What a daddy's girl.

Brinley had a blast playing with her cousins!

On the way home from Lava, we stopped in Oxford to see Darren's dad and grandma and aunts and uncles who were there doing all the yard work at the house. It was great to see Darren's family who I haven't seen for a long time. We had a great dutch oven dinner and sat around the fire and talked while Grandma Burrup was able to see her new great grandson. There are horses on the property next to the Oxford house and Brinley ran straight for them. We thought as she got closer she might be scared since they are so big, but as you can see, she could have cared less. She probably would have gotten on one to ride if given the chance. She is definitely our animal lover.

Happy 4th of July!!!

Today was a great day!! Darren took Brinley to the parade and then we had a barbeque with my brother and sister in law. Here is Brinley loving her brother. She is getting used to having a baby around. She has even tried to pick him up to get him out of the swing... I have to keep a close eye on her. Here they are in their 4th of July outfits... so cute!! I just wish her eyes were open in this picture
Little Beckham hung out with mom all day!! He is such a good and happy baby.
Brinley and her cheesy smile..
Darren took Brinley to the Stadium of Fire. I wish I could have gone with them. He said they had a blast and that Brinley loved the fireworks. I am glad they had such a good time. My parents came over and hung out with me and Beckham to keep us company.

Burrup Boys

Well here are a couple of pictures of most of the Burrup boys... It was so fun to have most of my brother's-in-law at the hospital with their kids. I love being with family! Beckham, Jace and Jack. Jack and Jace are only 2 days apart, and Beckham is about 4 months younger than those two.. They will have so much fun growing up together!
Here are most of the Burrup boys. We are missing Landon and his son Carter, Aaron, and Braden's two boys, Tyler and Josh. What a good looking bunch of guys!

Pictures

James Beckham Burrup

Well, Beckham couldn't wait to be induced to come into this world. I was supposed to go in on Monday morning for an induction. As I was laying in bed anticipating the morning ahead of me, I felt a few pretty painful contractions. This was at about 11:30 pm. I got up to go get a drink of water and thought that my water had broke (it hadn't). When I got back in bed the contractions were unbearable and really close together. After about an hour of that, I woke Darren up and told him we need to hurry and get to the hospital. We checked in at 1:15 am and I told the nurse I wanted an epidural as soon as possible, which was all done at about 1:45am. At 2:15 my water broke on its own and then at 2:35 the nurse came to check on my progress and what do you know? It was time to start pushing. She called the doctor who got there at about 3:00 and Beckham was born at 3:11 am. He weighs 7 lbs 15 oz and is 20 1/2 inches long.We are home now and doing great. Although we were scheduleda week early, they think the due date was wrong and he was actually a week late. No wonder he was so big!! Crazy, but all is well and we are both doing great. Brinley is being a great big sister, although jealous at times. I was burping him this morning and she kept wanting me to put him in the swing so I could hold her. But overall I think she will adjust really well. We are just so happy to have a healthy little boy! I will post more pictures once I get them uploaded.
